Phlox emerging

I went out to take photos of the Phlox buds because I adore them and what caught my eye was stage between bud and flower. emergence. Tried to search out the label for this plant but could not find it, so the variety is a mystery. Below is a photo of the buds which I love, in focus...

tomorrow summer session starts, so the focus will go back to the school garden.

Wonderful, Wayne! It's wonderful how such tiny, oval shapes open into such lovely, unimaginable beauties!

I see what you mean about the buds, they've an almost elongated shape before they unfurl.

Really nice.

Whatever variety it is, you're right, it couldn't be more lovely than now. It's full of mystery, surprise, expectation of full-blown beauty. Just like your summer session, I hope. Now you've got me humming Johnny Cash songs....

Rob--- I love flower buds. Thanks for taking a look.

Walk2Write--- there could be worse things one could stick into a head, but sorry all the same. I found the tag of a variety that died.

Tina--- good for you. school is going well, but I was a bit tired last night.

Phlox does have nice buds, and that was quite a catch to get the semi-emerged one. Glad to other bud-admirers!
